NEW RETAIL UNIT AND FIRST FLOOR OFFICE, NORTH DEESIDE RD, ABERDEEN
Recently completed and handed over to client Redco Assets ltd. The new build construction comprises of a basement and Ground Floor Retail unit with top class office accommodation on the first floor. The constricted access for the construction works, located on the busy North Deeside Rd, presented some serious challenges to the construction team, all of which were successfully negotiated.
The overall construction package amounted to in excess of £700,000. The design team for the project included TC&D Architects; Project manager, Walton Cost Consulting; Mcleod+Aitken Quantity Surveyors and Structural Engineers, WA Fairhurst & Partners

New 4 Storey Extension to AVC Media, Wellington Circle, Aberdeen
The new 4 storey extension to AVC Media Enterprise’s offices at Wellington Circle was completed and handed over in October 2008. The extension is the latest phase in the development of AVC’s business complex, with all previous phases including the initial office building being carried out in partnership with Anderson Construction as principal contractor. The overall project value amounted to £2m and comprises additional office and conference suites and refurbishment of the existing café bar area.
The design team for the project included TC&D Architects, Beedie Mitchell Quantity Surveyors and Cameron & Ross Structural Engineers.

Kenny Anderson Becomes First Scot Elected as CIOB Trustee
Kenny Anderson, has been elected a Trustee of the Chartered Institute of Building following a poll of the membership of the Professional Institute.
Kenny was elected as one of two Trustees from a short list of 6 candidates with voting taking place across all 42,000 members of CIOB topping the poll with over 50% of the votes cast.
Commenting after the result of the poll was released Kenny said he was delighted and honoured to have received votes not just from within Scotland but from further afield and from virtually every region within the CIOB’s fields of activity which include China, Hong Kong, South Africa, Australia and Canada.
